Community Posting Report – 3rd Batch Students
Tatwadarsha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Hubballi
Location: Village Anchatageri
As part of the curriculum and practical community health nursing experience, the 3rd batch of B.Sc. Nursing students from Tatwadarsha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Hubballi, were posted in the rural area of Anchatageri village. This community posting was aimed at providing hands-on experience in community health assessment, health education, and primary health care services.
During the posting period, students were actively involved in:
Family health surveys – Identifying health needs, socioeconomic conditions, and health-seeking behaviors of village residents.
Health education sessions – Conducting awareness programs on topics like hygiene, nutrition, antenatal care, immunization, and prevention of communicable diseases.
Home visits – Providing basic care, health guidance, and referral services to individuals and families.
Collaboration with local health workers – Working alongside ASHAs, ANMs, and Anganwadi workers for outreach programs.
School health check-ups and health talks – Promoting child health and hygiene.
This community posting enhanced the students ability to communicate effectively with rural populations, understand public health systems, and apply nursing theories into real-world community settings. It also fostered teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and responsibility toward rural health promotion.
The experience in Anchatageri village was invaluable in shaping the future nurses to be socially responsible and practically skilled in delivering primary health care.
